Versatile

I love when you can get the most out of a dress. When it's versatile, and can be switched up. I guess that's why multi-way dresses were invented (I have yet to get me one!), but this is also a nice option. A dress that comes with a detachable top so that you can either choose to wear it as a strappy dress, or not. I like both ways actually. It's hardly noticable in the pictures unfortunately, but the dress is an icy blue color, with a subtle snake skin pattern. It's all in the details; things that are not always obvious, but add to something in a great way.

By the way: if you look closely, you will still be able to see some henna on my hand, from my friend's wedding. I absolutely loved it!

Hats High

Let's not forget about hats! Hats come in so many varieties and a floppy sun hat adds a certain sophisticated-ness to a look. Any look for that matter, but very cute with a nice dress. For some reason I don't wear hats that often, even though I love them. I guess it's the sloppy girl in me that,
when taking the hat off for a while, will leave it lying everywhere and ends up losing it :/ I just can't help myself. But, if you're totally not like me, definitely do it!

Something Blue

Let's spice up this wedding season with some color right? A pretty blue always does the trick. Last week's weather also had me feeling a little blue. We went from warm, sunny weather to cold and rainy all within one day's time. Don't let that steal your shine though! Even when planning/attending a wedding in May with higher chances of great weather, there's always the possibility of not so great weather (at least here in the Netherlands). It can be unpredictable at times but in the end it's the love that counts. And just remember, marriages also have sunny days and rain from time to time, as long as the love comes out on top, everything will be just fine! :)

Sparkly Peach

As a real pink/flower/sequin lover, I was over the moon when I saw this dress. A wedding is a perfect occasion to take this baby out for a spin. The model of the dress is simple, as it does not need an extravagant design and because of the embellishments, I felt no need to add more accessories. Some sparkly shoes in the mix to compliment the dress and all done!

Bridal Mermaid.

The best thing about being a bride to be (apart from getting married to the man of your dreams of course!) is all the dressing up you get to do. Especially nowadays, when there's the engagement party, the bridal shower, the bachelorette party and the rehearsal dinner! All occasions for you to shine in cute fits as the glorious day fastly approaches. I do have to add that in typical Dutch culture, there are not so many occassions; usually just the bachelorette party and the wedding itself. But if you do happen to have all these seperate mini-celebrations, why not serve some pre-wedding glam?

I feel this dress gives just the right amount of fabness, sassiness, sexiness and above all classiness (and not to forget, mermaidness!). Mega win!

Suitable

I live for beautiful dresses and skirts, but I know they're not for everyone.
So when it comes to my wedding theme, I also wanted to step away from the typical dresses and skirts and give you a different option. If you've been a long-time reader of my blog, you know that I'm always here for a good suit. In my eyes, you can do no wrong with a nice suit; it looks clean, professional, but can also look sophisticated enough for a special occasion. Especially when the right accessories are added to the mix. In order to give it more of a "romantic" feel, I decided to pair it with a lightweight flowy top instead of a regular shirt or tank top. Pearls are also a great idea to add to the outfit, but then again, pearls are ALWAYS a great idea.

Keeping in line with the theme, I also switched up my nails from holographic glitter (which was awesome by the way, see my instagram for pics!), to a more neutral, wedding style. Although the nail tech in me is already thinking of what to do next :)

So how do you feel? Would you rock a suit to a wedding?

C'est Sleek

Wedding wear does not equal A-line skirts and flowy dresses. Sleek silhouettes are just as good. They show another level of sophistication and for me, this particular outfit makes a beautiful "mother of the bride" outfit. Not necessarily of course, it would look good on any guest. I love the clean lines and the less is more feel of this look. And if you do want to add something to the mix, try some fancy headwear! I added this feather fascinator to switch it up a little and it immediately upgraded the look from simplistic to "royal wedding" (at least, that's how Dutch royals typically dress).

Style notes: This coat is absolutely amazing! The pictures, don't do it justice, it's a shimmery tweed fabric, so luscious! The dress is a very soft, comfortable and stretchy fabric and yes, it has pockets in the front!

Maxi Chic

I am obsessed with maxi dresses. And good thing that they come in all sorts of variations. From casual and comfy, to chic. With all the embellishments and the lightweight skirt it's perfect for a wedding. I got this dress a while ago and I'm actually wearing it to a friend's wedding next week.

Fade to Black

Black is not always the first color that comes to mind when attending a spring/summer wedding (apart from the tuxes for the men of course), but actually, why not? It is oh so chic. Especially when there are splits, and capes and what nots involved. I'm a sucker for "Gone with the wind" fab dresses so this one was right up my alley. This dress gives me a "glam wedding" feel, one with lots of cocktails and fancy stuff. How I wish there was a mojito in my hand right now... :)

Cream of the crop

When thinking of wedding attire, the first colors that come to mind are of course white/ivory/cream shades. And although they are not considered a custom anymore ('cause really, where whatever you want on YOUR day), they are still by far the most common colors you'll see around. So why not get in the mood by starting off the season with something so obviously wedding-y? :)

This dress oozes romance, you actually don't need flowers to tell you that. Still I added them anyway ;) I absolutely love this one shoulder model and the sheer overlay. I would say this is a perfect bridesmaids dress, but I think some would even consider wearing it for their own wedding or bridal shower. And for this price, it is a major win! You would definitely be laughing your way to the altar!
