Oh Baby...

My oh, my, how time flies by. This post was way overdue, but I'm glad I finally got to writing it down. I posted a pregnancy announcement pic on my Instagram in September, and I would like to express my gratitude to all of you for your heartfelt responses, they made me feel so special :)

In the caption of that same post, I mentioned that the road to getting pregnant was a long one, and that I would explain that soon. I guess the time is here now.

Sheer Blossoms

I love a good sheer top or body. The season for all of that has finally arrived. Being fully dressed but "airy" at the same time, what beats that? It can provide a playful twist, a sexy, but still classy vibe. Of course you can also choose how much to show; just a bra, or another top underneath? Same color tones or contrast colors? All great options to play with. How do you like to wear sheer tops?

Off shoulder life

Off shoulder and bardot styles are a thing I just can't get enough of. I don't consider my shoulders my best asset but who cares, lol. I do love my "Madonna" type birth mark though, haha. This way, I get to show it off.

Honey Mustard

A color I can never get over is ochre/mustard/honey yellow. In summer it matches a beautiful sunset, in autumn it matches the leaves perfectly. It's warm and a nice pop! I think it complements melanin skin so well (almost every color tbh but okay). This dress caught my eye instantly. It's a faux suede fabric, super form fitting and DIVINE. I felt so sexy in this -is that an okay thing to say?- well, you know what, I don't care :)

I am actually not a clubby type of person, but I feel like hitting the club right now in this. What are your plans for the weekend?

Blossom

If there's anything that lifts my mood (apart from new clothes and chocolate of course), it's watching all these beautiful trees with pink blossoms. They're so beautiful to look at. To me, they say a new season has started. Sad part is that they usually don't last that long, and before you know it, the whole pavement is filled with pink petals. On the brighter side, it also means summer is coming... :)

Blue Trumpet

Black and Gold.

I told you, stripes are sorta my thing now :) With the weather being perfect and all, black may not be the color some people have in mind for the season. To me, it's timeless and "season-less". Especially when you use flowy, see through fabrics it looks stylish and classy or it could be the perfect cover up for something colorful underneath. I love the combination with gold, gives it a more "royal" feel.

Summer Weekend

This weekend's weather was perfect! It felt like summer. That calls for an opportunity to bring back some leg action and while we're at it, let's bring out the shoulders too :) I've noticed that I've been rocking lots of stripes lately (completely unintentional), no matter the color or pattern. Stripes are where it's at with me, I guess.

Code Red.

Red has completely won me over. Apart from my lipsticks, red was a color I've avoided in my wardrobe for so long, until recently. Relatable? Maybe my taste is changing as I'm getting older, but for some reason red is usually now the first color that catches my eye when an item of clothing is available in different colors.

Back to Basics

In the closet of a business professional, a pair of black dress pants is a wardrobe staple and a must have. It can be combined endlessly. Basics are so essential to any work wear closet. Being as it may, I actually did not own a single pair! So happy when I stumbled upon these, they are dress pants, but with a sporty twist; no classic zipper and button, but instead a drawstring and an elasticated waist. They are actually just as comfortable as sweat pants too! That's a win to me.

Tweedle Dee

I hope I'm not rejoicing too soon, but the first signs of spring are really starting to show now! I can assure you that I was not freezing when having these pics taken, what a relief! 2018 so far is flying by like crazy; Easter is around the corner, and I thought this would be a pretty Easter Sunday look. This dress has been an oldie that I shared before (and I love it still), but this Chanel like, tweed style coat really completed the look for me. And if you watched my Instagram stories in the last 24 hrs, you would have seen this look matched perfectly with my temporary car ;)

Dolly Dot

Honestly, I can't wait till when I finally can shoot outfits like this without totally freezing my ass off... Apart from that, wearing this cute jumpsuit also made me long for a nice cool drink, fruit and summer music in the background. Maybe a nice festival. I absolute love the print, the sweetheart bustline, the wide leg pants and the small, playful opening in the middle. And... *drumroll*... it has pockets! 😂 Can't get any better than that, don't you agree?

Coat or Dress?

I have an undying love for trench coats. I own a few varieties: satin, velvet, lace etc. They have the power to upgrade a look instantly. I saw this cold shoulder one, and loved it straight away. Haven't figured out if it's a coat, that can also be worn as a dress, or a dress that just looks like a coat. Or both? What do you think?

Red Cable.

Okay, do me a favor and look up the last post before this one... What a major difference in one week! Yesterday we were greeted with snow, ughhhhhh. I can never get used to this, unfortunately. The only thing that makes it better is the fact that I was eyeing this cute red sweater for a while and I at least had a chance to take it out for a few wears before I start melting while wearing it.

Well, at least this way it's never predictable. Next post might be me in a bikini or all wrapped up in a bubble coat!

Pretty Fly

The first warm rays of sun were here this weekend! Even though temperatures are nowhere near summer yet, the amount of hours of daylight and feeling the sun on my skin instantly lifts my mood. This dress was the perfect way to celebrate. Stripes, a combination of vibrant colors, and of course a thigh high slit that has my name all over it. Looking forward to more of these days to come, happy week!

LOUD.

I love to mix comfort with cute. Nowadays, active wear and lounge wear are not only meant for exercise or chilling at home. There are so many variations. I cannot tell you how comfortable this set is, while still looking cute. That's how I like it best.

Polka Dots

I consider myself a woman that wears whatever she loves, whether it's in fashion or not. Having said that, I also love to keep track of current trends and go along with some of them. If you've been paying attention, you might have noticed that polka dots are where it's at at the moment. Dresses, tops, jumpsuits, pants, you name it. While this is not the first time I've posted anything with dots, it has definitely been a while since I sported something of the sort. Checking my archives, 2013 was the last time (oh snap, how long have I been doing this blog thing?!). As I mentioned in an older post of mine, fashion is an ever revolving thing, with specific themes making a "comeback" every now and then. My so called "Circle of Style". I mean, who would ever expect these old style FILA (dad) shoes to be back on the market again? Somebody slap me if you ever see me wearing those... Anyhoo, I think that's why I always have a hard time getting rid of my older clothes, you never know if you may need them anytime soon. For now, this top is definitely a fave, and I foresee this number still being part of my wardrobe a few years from now. Let's see... ;)

Navy Stripes

I would like to start this post by saying kudos to me! While taking this pics, it was freezing y'all. And I think my face held up nicely, don't you think? While writing this, there's actually a thick layer of snow outside... Come on man, did the weather forget it's March already? I need to see signs of spring, beautiful daffodils coming out, baby animals and all that type of stuff. Not this. *Rant over*

Anyhoo, for some reason, I am very much drawn to any piece of clothing with stripes or polkadots, so be prepared to see that more often in the coming weeks/months. This sort of pintstripe, navy blue look is something I love to wear on rotation, you can never go wrong with stripes in my opinion. The top is actually a longer button up shirt dress type of thing, but I wanted to wear it with the pants and decided to make it an off-shoulder look, because once again, anything off-shoulder is hawwwt. Both pieces would like great seperately as well.

Keep me in your prayers while I struggle to shoot some more looks in this winter cold!

Layer Up

I cannot tell you how cold it is right now... I was already looking forward to spring as all of a sudden, temperatures decided to drop. So, back to warmer clothing options I go, time to layer up. As you know, in my book, leopard is always a good idea, so this vest did the job pretty nicely. Add in my "happy shoes" and we have a look! Very suitable for a day at the office, I think.
