Floral Funk

Calling out to Spring right now, I'm ready for you boo! What better way to make this statement than by rocking florals all the way? I think she kinda listened, 'cause the sun was shining all day. More please! And my hair... Yeah, it's the result of me sleeping with bantu knots. Although I'm naturally curly haired, I usually go with sleek or wavy styles - also because the heat damage is real with my hair and it won't curl anymore :(. I wanted to try something different and this is what came out. I actually like it, but it takes some getting used to. It does make me feel a little funky. Add the hair up with the round sunnies and a floral dress and BAM! Floral funk is born, a nice 70's vibe. So tell me sugah, how u feel? ;)

It's like that

I cannot tell you how much I love to wear outfits like this. Throw my hair in a bun, add some nice accessories, comfy shoes and GO! Comfortable but still fun. The best of both worlds I'd say. Although my blog will tell you otherwise, this is how I often dress in daily life, unless I really feel like going all the way I'll doll up, but this look is also fine with me. Don't get me wrong, I love dressing up but hey, luckily I don't necessarily have to. That's the key. I'm blessed to have a job where I can pretty much wear whatever I like, whether it's a laid back style or office chic. So yeah, I'm free to dress however I want. It's like that. And that's the way it is ;)

Relaxed chic

One item I do love to wear, but is very seldom seen on my blog: the hat. I don't know why but for some reason I always forget I have them. And they can do so much for an outfit! It can add instant class, or an instant "feel" to the outfit (e.g.: relaxed mood, boho look, hipster). But when I saw my new favorite boots, I immediately remembered this hat to pair it with. The boots have been one of my go to shoes these days, they're comfortable, cute and warm (and in wide width!).

As for the rest of the outfit, Imma let you in on a secret: if you would try to see past the hat, belt and shoes, it would be my typical perfect outfit for around the house or to relax in. Comfy leggings, a long warm vest... But adding a belt, boots and a hat (told ya!) I give you: "Relaxed Chic!" ^_^
The easiest way everrrr to upgrade your look. Am I the only one who does this? How do you upgrade a relaxed look?

Dear body, Happy Valentines day

This time a longer post than you're used to, but I need to get this of my chest. I've been meaning to do this for a while and due to recent events the time is now here.

HELP?
On our way to Berlin, a few weeks ago, at Schiphol airport we (Iris, Els, Hermina and I) met an older woman while waiting in line to drop our luggage. She approached us and asked to watch her bag for a while. After she came back we were chit chatting with her. Then just, out of nowhere, she asked our names and said: "I got something for you, look." She handed each of us a flyer about "changing your life" and weight loss. Wow. How rude.

Is the word HELP written on my forehead? Do I look unhappy to you? Does my inside scream: "I wish I could look different or skinny, somebody PLEASE help!!"? No, no and no. The brutality of some people. Of course all of us were a little stunned by this. (May I add that the lady was also a "big woman"). Because unlike others, my mother DID teach me manners, I reviewed the flyer carefully and then asked for her name. After she told me I said: "Listen, I'm going to give this back to you because I'm not interested." She took back the flyer and said "Oh sure, ok, I justed wanted to share because it really helped me." Well, good for her. After that it was luckily my turn at the luggage drop desk and I never turned around again to look at her again.

Pink Friday

If you've been following me for a while you would know that pink is my happy color. I'm a girlie girl and anything pink and cute makes me jump up and down out of excitement.  It's a color I can sort of identify with, I don't know why. When putting together an outfit, I usually pick one pop of pink but this time I wanted to play with different shades of pink, with hints of gold. And this clutch, sooo fluffy!

May the fierce be with you

Forgive my love of stupid puns and word plays but I'm the kind of person that laughs at her own jokes :D and I thought this title I made up was too funny! Seriously, this will be my new one liner/closing sentence. Trust me, I already got enough "For real, are you serious?!" looks from my husband.

Anyway, today I'm showing you an outfit from the W.O.W. line, one of my faves, the snake print dress. What I like about it most is that you can style this in several ways. I opted for a classy, but fierce look and the addition of these shoes (GIRLLL, don't even get me started about the shoes) and the trench coat give me that desired effect. Because yes, animal prints can look classy too! You can also choose to wear it in a more relaxed way, just as in the lookbook, by adding sneakers for example and a messy bun.

Sidenote: I tried to look fierce in my pictures by not smiling too much but sadly, I just can't pull that off, haha, I just look annoyed and angry. Fierce experts, like Kiah (love her!) make it look so easy! So next time more smiling :)
