2015 top 5 outfits

I know I know, I already posted my last post of the year yesterday but I thought it would be nice to share my 5 favorite outfits with you. I've already been posting them on Instagram and Facebook so I'm keeping it short, here goes (in order of appearance on my blog):

Silver Fox

I already mentioned in my previous post that with New Years Eve, I like to focus on sparkly things. I think I managed to get my sparkle on with this outfit, as literally every item shines and glitters! Of course I could have chosen for one statement piece only but hey, life's too short, why not do it all??! And I actually like the way it turned out.

Let's start with this jacket: I have absolutely no words for it. It was love at first sight, it is so beautifully designed and well crafted and it actually weighs quite a lot too. You can really feel the top quality. I have already dubbed it my curvy "Balmain" style piece ;)

The skirt set is the perfect set for so many occasions. It can easily be toned down by adding a black blazer and pumps or you can opt to wear the pieces seperately. As this skirt is very long, you can also pull it up more if you don't really feel like exposing your belly too much.

The shoes, oh the shoes. You have seen them around before, and I think that I will never get over glittery and embellished shoes. Nuff said.

So with that, I'm wondering, what will you be wearing for NYE?

Champagne

As the last few days of 2015 are passing by in rapid speed, the big question arises: what to wear for New Years Eve? My first answer would be: sequins! And since we're in a celebrating mood, why not in a champagne color? Shimmer is always good to ring in the new year, it's festive, sparkly and makes you stand out. And if you're the "New Years resolution" type, definitely add "sparkle more" to your list. It's all about how you shine!

There's one post left before the ball drops, see you on Wednesday!

The day after

And just like that, Christmas has come and gone.. I hope all of you had a great time and maybe some found some wish list items under your tree :)

Christmas weather has been incredibly soft and warm, I believe it even reached a record height for December. Global warming? Not sure, but I actually don't mind a snow- and ice free sidewalk. I just hope Winter won't wake up in February or March to bite us in the ass after all.. With it being 59 degrees (15 degrees celsius) outside I got to wear this skirt without tights and with my fluffy shoes for Christmas! This full skirt is sooo... full! I love it! If only it had pockets, it would have been perfect. Can't win em all I guess.

I'm getting back to watching Christmas movies (it's my holiday tradition) and enjoying the last days of 2015. There will be a few more posts up this year though :)

Sequin wrap

The time for shimmer and sequins has arrived yet again. Now, knowing me, you'd know that I don't limit myself to the holiday season to sparkle. I just consider this time of year as my opportunity to sparkle even more ;)

I have an undying love for kimono-style/wrap jackets and when I saw a kimono jacket fully sequinned I almost lost it! I mean, it rarely gets better than this right? As a fashion victim should, I'm always looking for what to wear during this season. It's not that I have no options (although that's what every woman says) but how to choose right? I have a few other holiday looks I would love to run by you so be on the lookout for them soon!

Knitty Gritty

This time of year calls for knits; vests, scarfs, sweaters and my fave this season, dresses. Keeping warm and staying stylish at the same time, who doesn't want that? I was totally ecstatic when I found these lovely boots to go along with them (and many other things might I add). I have totally fallen for this "knit dress with over the knee boots" look, and I can predict that this will be my go-to look for now.

Enjoy your week loves,

#TimeToSparkle

The party season is here!

If you follow me on Snapchat, you would remember that I had 2 quite busy days last week: I flew up and down to Copenhagen (will share that in another post), went back to Amsterdam and spent a glorious day there, shooting a Christmas collection with 5 other bloggers (Els, Hermina, Saskia, Iris and Josine) for MS Mode.

I am so happy they decided to show part of their holiday collection on a group of every day, diverse women, with different body shapes and sizes. We're not models. We're not perfect (actually no one is) and it may help a lot of you to see the clothing on someone your own size. I had a great day, and the lovely girls at MS Mode catered to our every need. Thanks so much for having us! Now, when it comes to photoshoots, what I dislike most is that you're anxious to see the final results and sometimes it takes so long. But man, were these pictures fast! So today, I present you, the results of the shoot! Details on my dress further down in this post.

I ❤ Rain

Well, that is a straight up lie. How misleading, the title of this post ;)
If there's anything I don't love, it's rain. That fact however, did not prevent me from buying this cute umbrella. Like I said before, the weather has been changing a lot, all in the same day so an umbrella is really essential. And to keep it "fashionable", let's be honest: a bright blue umbrella or any other color would not look so good with this beautiful dress. I loooove sheer and the patterns on this dress make it extra cute!

As I'm typing this, I just got home from 2 super busy days: I went to Copenhagen with Zizzi (I was there less than 24 hours), got back to immediately head to a photoshoot and finished in Amsterdam at another fashion event. Curious? Find me on snapchat to see (@supersizemyfash)

Sandy.

Chances are that by the time you're reading this, I'm probably on my way to the airport, for a super quick trip to Denmark :) (add me on snapchat for more on that, find me on supersizemyfash). I have lots to do in two days and honestly, I don't know in what state I will be back behind my desk this Friday... Well, that' still two days away so we'll see about that later.

In other news, I think my bare legged days are REALLY over now :/ While for the most part November was exceptionally soft and gentle, it has now really shifted. As I had to scrape the ice of my car windows this morning, I've come to accept that I have to say goodbye to my tight-less legs for now. So glad I still got to wear this though, I love earthly and nude tones and let's be honest, my legs fit this color palette perfectly :)

Be back soon,

Naughty be Nature

Ok, no lie. Lately, and especially today, the weather has been all over the place. It made it very hard for me to get new outfit pics taken and today, I literally opened my front door to step outside and was greeted with rain, only to have the sun shine in my face 15 minutes later, and then to be greeted by a hailstorm 30 minutes after that (luckily I took the pics in between storms :)). The sky went from grey to blue, over and over again. Which brings me to my next point: what the f&(* are you supposed to wear with nature acting up like this? I'll keep it real with you: no freaking clue. All I know, is that it needed to wear this lippie to brighten up my day, lol. It just happened to be that this vest was an excellent match :)

Style note: This vest is from H&M's teen line Divided. I got the L and it fits me perfectly, it's slightly oversized even (when wearing it open). Shows that it pays off to step out of your comfort zone and that the label in a piece of clothing says nothing ;)

Have a great week,

Romantic leopard

Whether snow, rain, sunshine or wind, one thing that's always finds it's way back into my wardrobe is leopard print. By now you all know that apart from pink and glitter, leopard is my thing. I know some people find it difficult to wear, without looking "tacky". Nothing tacky about leopard hun! Due to the print being a little busy, I would always advice (that is, if you want to dress it down a little) to combine it with a solid and neutral color, black or white being the best options. At least, in my opinion. This absolutely adorable flowy top did just the trick for me. It added a little sass and cuteness, just what it needed.

Autumn leaves

My favorite part of Fall are the colors: rich hues of yellow, red and orange. I'm in love with the endless lanes of trees which are full of scattered, fallen leaves. A Fall day even becomes more perfect when the sun decides to show herself, accompanied by a light, soft breeze. Are you getting into the picture I'm painting here? This day was the perfect opportunity to wear a what I call a sort of "transitional style": A coat, but not closed,  a dark shirt but in a light fabric and not buttoned all the way up, and high boots, but without thights :) If this was all that Fall would be, it would be perfect.

Enjoy your day,

Velvet Dreams

With the holiday season making it's way back in I'm already on the hunt for great holiday/party styles. Today I'm already sharing one of my finds: this gorgeous, emerald colored, velvet dress. Such a show stopper, in all it's simplicity. I'm in love with the texture and the rich color. I also love the quilted details on the shoulder. I wanted to let the dress speak for itself so I chose not to accessorize too much, especially with the addition of these gorgeous shoes, which are a statement of their own already.

I'm excited for the holiday looks to pop up and to draw lots of inspiration from them. For now, I'll have to wait just a little longer :)

Olivia Twist

Over the years, I have noticed that among my fashion addictions, there has always been one silent creeper. Something you're obsessed with, but you don't notice straight away until you find out you have a huge collection of them. In my case: coats. I adore them. Especially in the colder seasons, a coat can make a statement on his own, adding an instant upgrade to a "regular" outfit.

This coat is another gem I was lucky to find during a sale (even better!). It really gives me an Olivia Pope feel, I could totally see her wear this. Which in turn made me think of what to pair it with and I knew this green lace pencil skirt would be just great. I wanted to give it a sexy, unconventional twist and when I found this harnessbra I was sold. The element of surprise can be a great thing, and in this case, a fun way to spice up a dressy look.

I do have to admit that I hesitated to post this look as I felt that maybe it would be a bit too much. But after long consideration, I decided to own it ;)

Enjoy the rest of your week!

The Bee's Knees

The time for knits, vests and boots is here. Today I wanted to show you an outfit with all these three elements in it. The boots were the biggest challenge because I figured it would be hard to find a pair that fits my calves. I do have to mention that my calves are not that big, since in very rare cases, I do fit "regular" sized boots and get to zip them all the way to the top (oh goodness, the feeling when that happens, ahhhhh). Anyway, there wasn't really a challenge, as it only took me a 5 minute haunt online to find a pair. Win! The boots are partially made out of a stretch material, so no zippers involved, which makes it even easier. Downside: they do tend to drop from time to time, and I'm not a really big fan of the saggy boots effect to be honest. In the pictures they look really saggy but it was not that bad in real life. All I know is that with some knee high boots, the season is starting to look far more interesting... ;)

The interview

You know the feeling when your closet surprises you? Imagine yourself turning your closet upside down, looking for something to wear, and then you find an old gem! It's like finding a 10 bill in an old pair of jeans, always a pleasant surprise. I got these items at the beginning of this year from Zizzi and although I did post the coat at that time, I actually never wore this as a matching set.

I recently applied for a new job (in house) and was looking for something to wear to my interview, while this look just popped in my head out of nowhere. I wore it to my interview and needless to say, I got the job! I figure my skills had something to do with me getting it but let's just say, presentation makes up for at least 20% ;) I'm excited to start soon!

Skirt day

If you follow me on Snapchat (supersizemyfash), you would have seen that last week I cleaned out my closet. I am sorting items to sell at the upcoming Shop my closet event on November 1st (yes Dutchies!) in Vught. Anyway, I noticed that I have so many skirts that I just don't wear enough, but I'm still not ready to part with them. So now, I have taken it upon me to wear skirts more often, even if though it's getting colder outside. Opaque tights are a perfect option to pair them with and I actually feel they bring their own charm to a look. Another thing is this coat...

A few weeks back I was invited to MS Mode's A/W 15 collection launch and boy was I pleasantly surprised! They have sooo many cute styles coming up this season! As I am a real sucker for coats, this one was one of my top picks. Faux leather biker jackets are always a win, whether Spring or Fall, and this collar was the deal maker for me. I actually wore this exact outfit to the event and the coat complimented the outfit so well that I decided to make a post with it. Paired with my all time favorite glitter boots I think it's safe to say this Fall outfit is a win!

All about the drapes

In my previous post I already went over the importance of a LBD and how to make it your own. Although this dress is not "officially" considered one, it is definitely a must have. A dress that suits all occasions, not too revealing but still sexy. From the office to party mode. Yes.

This dress is definitely winning in one department already: the draping accentuates or creates the illusion of a curvier figure and at the same time, it hides parts you don't want to draw attention to (don't get me wrong, you don't need to hide ANYTHING you don't want to, as long as you're comfortable).

HOW TO| Turn your LBD into a BBD!

We already know that every woman needs at least one little black dress in her closet. A dress that gives off a sexy edge, while remaining ever so classy. The key requirement or element for a dress to be a LBD according to me? It has to YOU. Because, let's be real, the best addition to any outfit is you. Your confidence, your sass, your smile. It has to bring out the best in you. It has to make you feel like the prettiest woman in the room, or at least the best dressed, lol. It could be a lace, tulle, sheer, off shoulder, ruffled, feathered, bedazzled, it can be just anything that suits your fancy. There are no rules here, just make sure that you feel your best in it. Turn that LBD into a Bomb Black Dress! How? Let me show you:

Sunny surprise

Oh how I love surprises. I already started having trouble waking up in the morning since it was getting darker and colder outside and then, just out of nowhere, the sun decided to come back! Last weekend's weather was really good for my mood :)

To celebrate, I decided to wear a color that fits a sunny mood best: yellow! I can't wait for more surprises ;)

Fringy

Another trend you can't get around this season is fringe. Shoes with fringing, jackets and coats with fringing, bags with fringing and of course, dresses! When I laid my eyes on this festive number, I just had to have it. I love the effortless glam it gives, just by walking. Fringes are swaying from left to right, making your walk extra fierce (and you know I'm all here for fierceness, lol).

So what do you think? Will you be buying fringy items this season?

This wonderful dress was gifted to me by Asos as part of their #girlganggoals project. I had the privilige of choosing one item from their A/W collection and one for a friend! If you follow me on Instagram, you've already seen the beautiful skirt my sis chose. She's temporarily stationed in Australia so this was a great way to surprise her, I miss her so much! Thanks again Asos!

Pinky powder

In my last post I spoke about color palettes for Fall. Olive green and neutrals are a great combination. But how about powder pink? It's such a cute color and coming to think of it, there are hardly any colors I don't call faves. Anyhoo, since last weekend's weather was still kind and gentle, with lots of sun, I took the liberty of pairing my new fluffy jacket with my fluffy heels in the same tone. It's probably one of the last chances I'm going to get. On another note, I've been known to wear heeled sandals in Fall and Winter too... Anything for a cute look right? ;)

Olive wrap

I already mentioned in a recent post that olive green is one of my favorite colors to wear. Combined with neutral and nude tones, it makes up a beautiful color palette. One thing that should absolutely be part of every woman's closet, is the perfect trench. It can really enhance a good outfit and looks super cute for Fall. They're not the warmest of coats, but hey, that's not what they're here for ;) Prepare to see it appear on here a lot more.

This wrap dress is adorable and it gives a "kimono/bathrobe goes chic vibe". Great piece for the office and just about anywhere. I think it looks really sophisticated.

What's your go-to color palette for Fall?

Classic 70's

As I've mentioned before, the seventies trend is getting big, very big, and will remain so for a while. Everywhere you look is more fringe, more suede and more prints. That's cool and all, but not everyone is down with the boho seventies vibe. I am definitely not against it, a certain piece just has to speak to me. For those feeling like they should pass on this trend I give you this jumpsuit! I think it's amazing. Even though the colors are neutral, the model of it just breathes seventies because of the sleeves and the wide leg pants. I think it's a great adaption to the trend and shows that not everything related to this trend has to be popping with color, suede fabrics, prints, fringes or the occasional glitter. Since I (of course) would live in glitter if I could, I added my bedazzled shoes to satisfy my glittery needs :)

All in all, a great way to incorporate a trend but with a classic twist ;) Do you agree?

Strut.

As the climate slowly progresses from sunny warm days to a bit more darker and chilly days, I am trying to adjust the best way I can. You all know that I'm a real summer girl and that colder and darker days really affect my mood but what better way to cheer yourself up than with some new fluff? Maybe you remember seeing this style before, I actually posted a picture of the coat version in my Curvy is Sexy fair post back in January.

For some reason, I felt like looking a little sexy and I think this dress just did the trick. Add similar style boots and BAM! You're ready to strut all the way through Fall baby! :)

Enjoy your week,

Neutral Ground

Whether in- or out of style, olive green will always be one of my favorite colors to wear. And I don't mean to sound bad but I also think it matches beautifully on a darker complexion. It's actually one of the compliments I get the most when wearing an item in this color. That it looks so great on my skin :)

Being the lazy type of fashion lover, ironing is definitely not one of my hobbies. Yes, life sucks sometimes, especially when there are chores to be done. But this time, I really put my all into creating a clean, crisp pair of culottes and yet, at the end of the day, it looks like I did not even bother to iron it *sigh*. Apart from that, it's a great pair of pants that I plan to wear a lot this fall.

REVIEW| Wooden Luxury

Accessories are always a fun way to help compliment your outfit. You can either keep it simple (like I usually do) or go completely over the top and let the accessories speak for the rest of the look. Something that will definitely suit your everyday looks as well as the more special ones, is a watch. Just like any accessory or piece of jewellery, watches come in so many varieties, but this one really caught my attention: a watch made out of wood! It's something I've never seen before and honestly, when I think of wood, watches are not the first thing that come to mind - and no, I did not mean that in a dirty way ;)

"Give me a sec."

One of my favorite bloggers and one of the first I began following is Luanne from IamWeesha.com aka Weesha's World. I've been reading her blog for a couple of years now and when it comes to personal style, we have a quite similar taste. So when I spotted this kimono and short set on her blog, I rushed to order! It is absolutely amazing. The kimono is a little large, so you can definitely size down on that, but I don't mind it looking this way either.

This outfit is a way for me to say: "Oh hey Fall, are you back again? Ok, I'll let you in, just give me a sec." ;) With Fall fastly approaching, I intend to take in the last Summer vibes as much as I can. The kimono is definitely a piece that I will take with me to the new season. The colors fit the Fall palette perfectly. What say you?

Shagadelic

I have to be honest and say that I had my reservations when I first saw this jumpsuit, but there was something about this print that drew me to it. The print is amazing and really gives me a 70's feel. The legs on these pants are really, really wide and on the model the length is more 3/4, on me it was ankle length. None the less, I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it on. This outfit just screamed for bigger hair than usual and some cute platforms.

The 70's trend is slowly winning more territory and actually I was not really here for it. But sometimes you come across a statement piece that just makes you change your mind all over again. I still don't know if the trend will fully be incorporated in my wardrobe, for now this will do :)

Split Ends

It's amazing how much a person can change over a period of time. I remember so well that my legs were a part of my body I always covered up. I was okay with knee length skirts but anything showing my legs from the knee up was banned from my closet. I used to hate the way they looked and was ashamed of them. But, with age comes wisdom, with inspiration comes courage and with love comes acceptance (or with acceptance comes love? both work I guess). I could never imagine showing off my legs but since you've known me for a while now, you all know that I'm all here for some leg action! I'm fond of splits in particular; dresses, tops and skirts with a split. Yes! Over here please! Now I can't imagine not showing them off. And no, not because I dropped tons of weight (which I obviously did not) or because I got them all lean and mean at the gym. No, just because I like them now :)

When I was younger I always felt that people that gave me the "yes, now that I'm maturing, I'm really getting to know myself" talks, were full of it. But I guess now, that I'm maturing (ghehe), I can relate. It sounds cliché but it's oh so true. And if you think I'm full of it, read this again in a few years ;)

Enjoy your week loves!

Fashion Symbiosis

If you follow me on snapchat (@supersizemyfash), you would have seen that I was drooling over these shoes. And even though I'm a grown up (or at least should be) I have the best mom that totally felt I should have these, so she got them for me. Love ya mom!

Now on to the dress: I have a weakness for hi-low styles. I know it's a "you either love it or hate it" thing but I absolutely love it. I immediately knew that I just had to pair the shoes with the dress, as both compliment each other. Total fashion symbiosis.

Another thing, whilst snapping these pics (near the water) a lady walked up to me and asked if I would like to snap some outfits pics on her boat, because she thought I looked so pretty :). Mind you, not a yacht of some sorts, it was a light ship that was used years ago to warn ships at sea and is now permanently docked. I thought it was so sweet of her so I accepted her offer. That would explain the change of scenery in some of my pics :)

Casual Elegance

This dress is a no brainer. Those are the best kind. You just put it on and BAM! Instant cute outfit. Because of the cape type layer at the top of the dress, it looks so put together. Depending on the accessoiries, there's still a lot of versatility. For example, paired with pearls and high black pumps, you get some extra chic-ness, or paired with small hints of color and a dash (just a dash!) of glitter like I did, makes it look elegant, yet playful (and FAB of course).

On another note, I'm giving away a €250 Navabi voucher on my Instagram! If you've been eyeing this dress or one of the other Zizzi Black Label styles, here's your chance! Head over to my Instagram for more details and join, giveaway will be open till Sunday August 30.

Where's the festival?

I've never been too fond of the tie dye print, until this set came along! It attracted me immediately and kind of reminded me of pretty skies and oceans. The model of the skirt is so cute, y'all know I love a little Angelina leg action here and there ;)

As Summer is holding on for dear life here, and not always being successful might I add, the time to rock utter Summer wear is NOW! I'm doing it while I still can.

This outfit was just SCREAMING for a top bun, some flash tattoos and funky sunglasses (which I'm madly in love with by the way!). This could totally be my Coachella outfit, lol.

Style tip: Looking for lace up sandals but you have bigger calves? Order them anyway and replace the laces with longer ones to adjust them to your calf size. Don't let no one stop you! :) For the Dutchies, HERE'S a store that sells any type of laces imaginable, in any length you want!

Boss Lady

What brings the "boss" vibe better than a pinstripe suit? I tell you, Zizzi makes the best suits, see two previous ones here and here. It can be worn in various ways and due to the jacket being a little kimono like, it can be mixed to the max! This lady wanted to add a little sexy vibe in contrast with the suit this time. It's times like these that I wish I had a smaller cup size, just so I could rock these type of styles bra-less. What a dream that would be (not the smaller cup size, the bra-less part, lol). I tried to pair it with my Bye Bra tapes that I reviewed exactly a year ago today (what a coincidence!) but the girls weren't feeling it, they did not sit the way I wanted to :\

Either way, I added a bra in a navy type color to match with the suit, I think it's good enough for now, until they invent something for us Tig 'ol Bitty girls. Well, you can't always win 'em all...

Enjoy your week!

Prints Charming

I've noticed that I've been wearing a lot of black lately, (not that it's a bad thing, I love black) but I thought it would be nice to bring more color today. Due to the hot weather I often find myself in maxi dresses; they're comfortable, cute and effortless. This fancy number has a beautiful color with a complimentary print, it caught my eye immediately. It's a great option for a chic garden party, or any party for that matter :)

Enjoy the rest of your week,

Zizzi Black Label

Meet Zizzi's newest collection, the Black Label. A collection designed to cater to the curvy and style conscious woman. Zizzi has teamed up once again with Femmes Regionales, that also designed the previous W.O.W. collection. I think they are a great match.

Modeled by the beautiful Ali Tate (I think she's perfect for this lookbook!) I think Zizzi really nailed it. The items are classic, stylish and timeless. Each of them have been designed to be a key piece in your wardrobe that can last you for seasons to come. It is the perfect line to satisfy our luxury workwear needs, as well as chic partylooks. I love the minimalism and the class it radiates.

Key Piece

I have a thing for shirt dresses. They're the easiest thing to put on and can be styled in various ways, due to the fact that you can completely button them up or down (or halfway). I think every woman should at least own one shirt dress (I won't judge if you don't, lol). This one has a very classy look, because of the laced linings and the shiny pearl top button. I love the attention to detail.

It's one of the classic and timeless pieces from Zizzi's new Black Label collection, I will post more on that tomorrow. I just feel that this dress suits various occassions, from a day at the office to an after work party. That is actually what I feel the whole collection represents.

I'll be back tomorrow with more!

Nautical

Blogger collabs and collections with brands always make me happy. Why? Because those times, I just know for sure that I will be drooling over every single thing. Don't get me wrong, a lot of the brands get it nowadays, and offer us a lot of cute styles. But it always warms my heart when one of "our own" gets to speak their mind and brings us just what we're craving for.

If possible*, I always try to get at least one item, to show my support and of course, cause the shit is cute :) This time I was completely surprised because for some reason, I did not know of this collab until a few hours before it hit online already (I actually saw it on Chastity's snapchat). That's actually even better, because it reduces the waiting time if you've really got your eye on something. Anyhoo, Garnerstyle for Rebdolls. A very cute collection with Chastity's signature all over it. I know she loves the nautical look and this dress immediately caught my eye.

The only down side: when ordering from the US, the customs fees are ridiculous. I paid almost half of the original price of this dress for custom taxes. Let me tell you, the government = maffia.

Back to the dress, I'm very pleased with it but I do have to say that the pictures do not do it justice. I personally thought the dress looked better on me in real life than in these pics. Sometimes it's just hard to capture the complete essence in a photo, that's what we have professional photographers for I guess (No shade to my lovely sis who took these pics btw, she does a great job <3).

*Possible meaning if my wallet allows it and if the brand ships to my country ;)

Back to Black

With just a few more days left on my holiday calendar, I have to try and adjust back to working mode again (noooo). Four weeks fly by within the blink of an eye (hey that rhymes!). Last week the hubs, mini me and I went on a mini vacay, hence the lack of outfit posts last week. We had fun, we visited the zoo, went swimming, amusement parks and so on. Man, that makes a parent tired as hell I tell you. And my mini me still has energy left for days. Really, I don't know how they do it.

I tried to stay connected via snapchat but the hotel's wifi was sooo lousy. I literally had to sit in the hall one night just to be able to watch my show on Netflix, and I already used all of my own internet :/. I felt a little disconnected from the world and I did not like it ONE bit. Shows how much of an addict I am, that's not a good thing right?

Well, anyway, wish me luck on adjusting back to regular life and enjoy the rest of your week!
xoxo

P.S.: Yes, I know that little loop thingy on my outfit is showing, but hey, life sucks sometimes ;)

Casual flow

How time flies. I'm already halfway through my summer holiday (nooooo!) and I'm soaking up as much sun as I can get. As of tomorrow rain and storms will take over again. Why, why, why? :\

I still have a lot of cute summer stuff to wear so I hope the dark clouds won't take over for too long. Well, we'll just have to wait and see. Todays look is casual but the cute top gives it a nice touch. Honestly, the pictures don't do it justice, the top looks sooo cute and flowy in real life. Just blame my bad modeling skills for not showing it's full potential, lol.

Island Chic

Well, some rest can definitely do some good. I am finally starting to feel better, not 100% yet, but we're getting there... Thank you for all your well wishes!

I'm keeping it short this time but I do want to say that this skirt is such a good find! I love the print, gives me an "island feel" and the price made it even better :) Who doesn't love a bargain?!

Enjoy your week,
xoxo

Poker Face

Doesn't it just suck? Being in your first week of holiday and getting sick?! Typically something for me. When I'm at home, especially now that I'm not feeling so well, the "glamour" in my look is practically non existent. I like to relax in sweat pants, a simple top, and my hair in a bun. Glasses on (I'm as blind as a bat without my glasses or contacts) and chill mode on. Of course I'm not an exceptional case, I believe a lot of women like to "dress" that way in their time off. But, what I personally cannot take is looking the part for more than 3 days in a row. It just makes me feel so sloppy (I'm not judging ANY of you, these are my issues) and I need to dress up to get rid of the feeling.

So, as a good blogger should *cough*, I decided to dress up and take some pics, just to be out of my "comfortable wear" for a while. And actually, I think I did a great job if I may say so myself. No stuffy flu face right? I guess you "can't read my, can't read my, no you can't read my poker face" :)

To keep it in a sort of relaxed mode I took out this kimono, which I absolutely love. I know, for some it may give the look and feel of a satin bathrobe but if it were one, it would be an absolute fabulous one! I adore kimonos and just about anything that has a kind of Japanese feel to it, it can go with almost anything. To add a bit more sass I opted for of course, glitter (!) with these super cute shoes. They can brighten up any day.

While I'm heading back to bed, trying to get some shut-eye, I wish you all a nice weekend!

I am proud and honored to be one of the Zizzi ambassadors, there a currently six of us, but unfortunately, two couldn't be there. Nevertheless, we had so much fun! It was a very long day for all of us but we made it work!

Happy Jump-Day!

Here I go again with my stupid love for bad puns. I can't help my corny ass. It must be the Carrie in me, lol. Since April of this year I actually cut back on my working hours, and "hump-day" is now actually my day off. It's perfect, (elementary) schools are out earlier on Wednesdays and now I can pick up my princess from school myself. Apart from that it's a great break; I only have to work two days in a row, which makes life a whole lot easier I tell you.

My posting is also more regular, thanks to the Wednesdays where I try to get some extra pictures to post. As you may have noticed, my aim is to post a new outfit or other article every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Apart from my short blogging break, it has been working out quite nicely so far. I just hope I can stick to it, don't blame me if I don't once in a while! :)

Swim Good

And we're back with a new week! How was your (4th of July) weekend? Well here the heat wave officially hit so I've spent pretty much the entire weekend in my bikini :) Hubs and I had a nice date night for our anniversary and ended up at the beach watching the sunset. Life is good!

Coming to think of it, this, -apart from last week's post in my bikini top- is my first post ever in swimwear. I guess I just never got to it. And maybe I also have to be honest with myself and admit that it's one of the things I still had to overcome. As a plus size blogger, I see myself as a body positive activist but that doesn't mean I don't have insecurities of my own. Now, this doesn't mean that I'm afraid to step out in a bikini, but posting it online for the whole world to see... Wellll, that's another thing. Trying to step out of your comfort zone is key, and that's what I'm trying to do, each time I try something new. A bikini is one thing, it could be something completely different the next time. I felt good wearing this and that's what is most important. It's ok to push your boundries a little bit, but do stay true to yourself. If you're really not feeling it, well hey, you're really not feeling it. Let nobody push you to do something you don't want to.

With the swimwear options for us plus size ladies being practically limitless these days, it's even a hard job choosing what to buy. I see so many cute things, and gorgeous cover ups too! I decided to pair this bikini with my old, alltime favorite skirt and I love how it came out.

Strapped

And now, the time has come to replace your regular clothing with swimwear! I still can't get over this bikini. I absolutely love the crossover straps and the classy, yet sexy look it gives. Yes, I'll be the first to admit it, I felt GOOD wearing this :)

I'm also very fond of cute cover ups to combine with swimwear and when I saw this cute kimono, I just knew I had to pair it with the bikini. HAWT! Since I don't actually own a villa with a big ass pool (one day I will) and I had to take my pics on the "street" I opted for some shorts and sandals to match. The hat was a cute detail but DAYUM, it was toooo hot! I literally sweated my edges out, but let's just say it was my intention to create a "beach hair" look, lol.

This weekend's weather will be smoking hot and the hubby and I get to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary on the 4th of July. To all of you, enjoy and to my Americans, happy 4th of July! Be safe and see you next week!
